Data Deletion Instructions

This page describes how to request deletion of personal data that Maison Umai has collected, including data collected through our Instagram and Facebook integrations.

What Data We Collect via Meta/Instagram

When you connect with Maison Umai through Instagram or Facebook, or when your public posts are included in our Instagram feed (via the #maisonumai hashtag or our follower feed), we may store:

  • Your public Instagram username
  • Post captions and media from public posts
  • Public post permalinks

We do not store private messages, personal contact details, or any non-public information from Meta platforms.

How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your personal data from our systems, please contact us using any of the methods below. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion by email.

Option 1 - Email Request

Send an email to hello@maisonumai.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Please include:

  • Your name
  • Your email address associated with any account or order
  • Your Instagram handle (if applicable)
  • A brief description of the data you want deleted

Option 2 - Facebook/Instagram Settings

If you connected your Instagram account to our app via Facebook Login, you can also revoke access and request data deletion directly through Facebook:

  1. Go to your Facebook App Settings
  2. Find "Maison Umai" in the list of apps
  3. Click "Remove" to revoke access
  4. Then email us at hello@maisonumai.com to confirm full data deletion

What Happens After Your Request

Once we receive your request, we will:

  1. Verify your identity to protect your privacy
  2. Delete your personal data from our active systems within 30 days
  3. Remove any user-generated content (UGC) associated with your account from our website
  4. Send you a confirmation email when deletion is complete

Note: Some information may be retained where required by law (for example, order records for tax compliance) or where your data has been anonymized and can no longer identify you.
